ORDERING PULP FICTION CHRONOLOGICALLY

1. Scene 2: Hitmen Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield (under employment of Marsellus Wallace) shoot up Brett and co. They take the briefcase that Wallace wanted them to pick up that Brett allegedly stole.

2. Scene 8 (The Bonnie Situation OVERLAP): Technically this is the same scene as the chronological first, but from a different perspective and far extended.

This scene starts with a guy standing outside the door and hearing what happens. After the bible speech, and Brett + co. are killed ('cept for Marvin), he smashes through the bathroom door and tries to shoot Vincent and Jules. Every bullet misses them cleanly, and they kill the guy. They take Marvin, who was their informant (for Marsellus) and during the ride back and a discussion about miracles where it's revealed Jules is thinking about resigning as a hitman. When Vincent asks Marvin what he thinks about miracles, he accidentally kills him and blows his brains out all over the car. In fear of the cops or other complications, Jules goes to the friend who owes him a favor (Jimmy) who insists that they sort it out before his wife gets back from her job. Jules calls Wallace and it's stated that a "Mr. Wolf" comes to sort things out. He does, and they get the car cleaned up and the body taken care of. They go to breakfast at a diner.

2.5. Scene 1/Prologue OVERLAP: A small-time criminal Brit couple are discussing heist locations, then decide that a restaurant would be a good idea to stick up because they would be able to take the customers' wallets.

3. CONTINUATION OF 2., Scene 8: Once they arrive at the diner, they continue their discussion about miracles and Vincent goes to the bathroom.

The stickup by the Brit couple begins. Jules and the guy in the couple, dubbed Ringo, have a face to face when Ringo notices the briefcase. After revealing what is in the briefcase (?) Jules turns the tables around and gets his wallet back, but gives the money to Ringo, to "pay [for] his life". There's more religious stuff, Vincent comes back and tenses things up a little bit but everything is sorted out and both the couple and the hitmen leave the restaurant.

4. Scene 3 (Vincent Vega and Marsellus Wallace's Wife): Marsellus is speaking to Butch and paying him to lose or win his fights because he's betting on Butch, I guess?

Vincent and Jules enter the room. Meeting for the first time, neither Vincent nor Butch like each other. It is here that Marsellus hugs Vincent and asks him to take his wife Mia out to enjoy herself because he's leaving town for a few days.

5. Scene 4: The next day, Vincent is picking up high quality heroin from his dealer Lance. He tries it out, and it's clear that it's the hard stuff. He drives back to get Mia (who does like, a heckton of cocaine), and together they go to a 50s/60s-ish themed restaurant. They dance until it gets late, then they go back to the Wallace's house. When Vincent goes to the bathroom to talk himself out of hitting on Mia, she finds the bag of heroin and snorts it, thinking it's coke (???). She passes out and Vincent comes back finding her in a bad state, taking her to Lance's house. They wake her up with an adrenaline injection and Vincent takes her back home again. They part on peaceful terms, both agreeing not to tell Marsellus.

6. Scene 7: Butch dreams of his childhood where he as a child was given his dead father's watch.

7. Scene 8: He wakes up, and it's time for his match. Although it is not shown, it is revealed (with masterful editing/directing!) in the same scene in his taxi drive back to his motel that he killed the man he was fighting instead of whatever Marsellus wanted him to do. His driver, Esmerelda, seems to be intricately fascinated with his opponent's death.

Arriving back at the motel, he greets his girlfriend and they agree to take their money from winning the boxing matches and leave [the country???] in the morning. The next morning, Butch wakes up to the sound of a war/action movie on the TV (possibly referring to his father and the trauma Butch had to go through as a kid) and they prepare to pack until he realizes that the watch from his father is gone. After tearing up the apartment, Butch attempts to calm down and takes his girlfriend's car to his old apartment. Because of the fight, the entire time he is on edge and making sure that there is nobody (i.e., Marsellus's guys or Marsellus himself). He enters without problem and finds his watch, but lingers for a moment too long and realizes there is indeed someone else in the house with him when he sees a machine gun on a counter.

It is revealed that that someone is Vincent, and Butch kills him (catching Vincent before he can react coming out of the bathroom).

He leaves and thinks that it is over, driving away, but as he stops for a traffic light Marsellus turns and sees him in the road crossing before him. In a moment of recognition, before Marsellus can do anything, Butch hits him and swerves into a light post. Both pass out and wake up almost at the same time. A chase occurs, and both make their way to a audio? weapon? something? shop. Butch is about to kill Marsellus, but is stopped by the shop owner.

Both are knocked out and wake up bound and gagged in the shop owner's basement, who implies that a "cop" named Zed is coming.

Zed arrives and the captives take out a leather slave/gimp guy to keep watch over Butch, while Marsellus is taken to be raped. Butch manages to get out of his bindings and knocks out the slave guy. He is about to escape when he hears Marsellus suffering and decides to turn back, taking a samurai sword with him.

Arriving in the basement, he manages to sneak up on the store owner who is watching the rape and kill him. He manages to stall the rapist for long enough that Marsellus shoots him in the crotch with a shotgun, rendering Zed unfit to do much more than roll around on the ground. It is during this scene that Marsellus and Butch agree that "[they're] cool", and presumably, the boxing scandal is not brought up again.

Butch leaves and picks up his girlfriend. On Zed's motorcycle. And they go.

NOTES (and thoughts- do not read, half of it doesn't make sense it's just for my reference)

first scene: girl + guy (couple presumably) discussing previous heists (??) in a coffee shop
they then turn it into a stickup

credits

second scene: two guys (pitt and vincent vega maybe looking for a "mia" and a marcellus (?) wallace) driving in a car talking about ?????????? aaah i'm cofnused they seem like good friends from work on a job or something they're talking about someone who jumped off a building (antoine?) THEY ARE HITMEN

they go inside a room (that they were looking for) and mention something about a business partner and this guy is called brett

intimidation
jules shoots a guy (as intimidation again) then threatens the guy sitting down ???????????
and then shoots the guy brett too
vincent took a briefcase with what i assume to be gold?? or something in it

scene 3: "vincent vega and marcelllus wallace's wife"

the setting is a bar, the first shot is long, it's framed like an interview?? where the guy being spoken to is at the center (the speaking guy is marcellus he has a cool bandaid)

then it's changedback to a long over the shoulder ??? these techniques confus e me

shot of vincent and pitt coming in as if it were a new scene but actually it's the same place same scene THEY'RE WEARING DIFFERENT CLOTHES

scene 4: two girls, both goth, talking about piercings
not sure where
there's one guy introduced, lance

this guy gets pulled away and there are drugs- heroin (he looks like vincent, probably is him) then vincent gets high, then he drives home and mia is introduced as a character

scene 5: (continuous? feels like it could easily be the same) they arrive at a restaurant, seems like a bonding sort of thing?

i think that this is definitely after the second scene because they are talking about antoine

the foot massage is coming back into play from the second scene (it's relevant to the antoine thing obvs)

in fact this is probably directly after the second scene because vincent talked about hvaing to take out mia

scene 6: also a continuation of the previous]
mia and vincent coming back to the house, vincent is falling in love with mia lol and he has to convince himself not to do anything too rash ??

mia over dosed on heroin and is dying and they are driving to lance's house
etc. happens

scene 7: some family??? little boy??? returning captain from the same POW camp that his dad died in???

there's a watch, seems significant, bought by great grandfather of kid??

it was hidden up their asses lol

scene 8 as he picks up the watch: THE WAY IT'S CUT AND SHOT, THIS NEW BOXING CHARACTER IS THE SAME CHARACTER AS THE BOY WHO GOT THE WATCH BUT GROWN UP

"THE GOLD WATCH"

same scene (???) but the boxing match is now on tv and some lady is watching it (fantastic transition?)
we see the hitmen again
they talk to mia and co.
cut to lady who was watching the boxing match on tv earlier in a cab (she's driving) with the boxer (the same one?), and she asks him (kind of twistedly) what it's like to kill a person (foreshadowing? themes?)

revealed that the name of the boxer, butch, is the same character as the boy in the earlier scene, also butch

same scene (?????) but butch is in a phone booth while esmerelda (the taxi driver) waits in the car??? he's talking about money from boxing i presume? or something more shady maybe

he gets out of the taxi and bribes the taxi driver to not say who he was to others

there's a girl in the room he gets into (a motel room), maria, and they're totally gonna do the do (she's a smart girl)

they're doing the do aka "oral pleasure"

shower, talk about runnin g away (from the people that might kill them)

still same scene, fade to butch and maria in the morning, butch woke up suddenly b/c of the war movie on tv w/ explosions and stuff

maria left the watch that was given in the beginning of the scene, in the old apartment, so butch drives back to get it (there's a hint of "gangster threat")

when he's in the apartment he realizes he's not alone AND IT'S VINCENT
AND VINCENT IS SHOT DEAD
BY BUTCH
OH NO

he drives away and there's a guy on the street who sees him but then the guy (IS THAT MARCELLUS) is hit by his car

after both of them wake up the guy pulls the gun and attacks

they're chased into a music store and the store owner forces them to freeze just as butch is about to kill other hitman
store owner knocks butch out and calls someone

the hitman and butch wake up gagged in storeowner's basement
a cop/security guy called zed comes in and thEY BRING OUT A LEATHER SLAVE AAHAHAHAHHA- BOUND GAGGED ETC AND WAS BEING KEPT INSIDE A CELL OR S/TH
hitman gets pulled into room to be put into leather while butch tries to escape, being watched over leather slave
he escapes (and punches the leather guy)

but doesn't leave the store- he hesitates when he hears the two guys (sodomizing) the hitmen
choosing a smaurai sword as his weapon (after looking at several contenders) he enters

i was right they were sodomizing him lol nice

together butch and hitman kills the one guy watching and threaten the sodomizer

they make peace and butch leaves
on zed's motorcycle

he picks up girl and they're so cute to each other

SCENE 8: THE BONNIE SITUATION
IT'S THE SECOND SCENE AGAIN FROM A DIFFERENT GUY'S PERSPECTIVE
FDIFFERENT GUYS

AND THE WHITE GUY WHOSE PERSPECTIVE WAS FROM TRIES TO KILL THE HITMEN BUT HE MISSES THE WHOLE TIME

OMG
IT'S A CONTINUATION
the dude sitting in the corner snivelling is like the last one AND HIS NAME IS JULES ?????? THE BLACK HITMAN WHY DIDN'T I KNOW THIS BEFORE UGH

they skedaddle in a car together and they're talking about how jules/pitt is gonna quit his job because he thinks it was god's miracle and after asking marvin they accidentally kill marvin the guy sitting in the back

they call in a favor to put the car in a garage

jimmy whips their butts because it's not dead guy storage in his house
jules is totally under jimmy or s/th because he backs off

idk who that is the guy who got sodomized earlier i think
responds to the call from jules
and they're talking about how to sort out this situation
he's "sending the wolf" and then everything is okay

the wolf arrives and he organizes them into submission like a pro
they obey orders and clean up the car and stuff

they dispose of the body and then go have breakfast
the diner that they're in is thE SAME ONE AS THE VERY FIRST SCENE I ASSUME IT WILL PLAY OUT

they refer to the shootup in the house where they killed the guys as "this mornign" so it's all in one day

there's a cut to the coffee order from the very beginning too but then back to vincent and jules bantering
then there's the "robbery"and it continues from beyond what the beginning showed

stuff happens, and vincent is just in the bathroom the whole time (sweetheart <3)
jules cocks his gun (it's about to get serious) and stuff happens like jules is great because he shows the guy- ringo and yolanda- his suitcase of gold
and then he's a pro and pulls the gun on ringo baSICALLY KICKED HIS ASSS

stuff happens
jules recites the same passage from the bible from earlier when he killed the guys

oh my god this is such an awesome film i'm
THAT WAS HECKA RAD
